Default 1985 F-150 clutch

I have a 1985 LT in line 6 with a granny 4 speed. I replaced the clutch pack and slave cylinder.
Upon finishing those repairs I tried to purge the air out of the system. Cracked the plug and nothing came out. There is fluid getting to the slave cylinder. The slave cylinder pushes on the fork.
When running it won't go into gear. You can start in gear and shift through all the gears. Same as when the engine is off.
Would the master cylinder be at fault?

you have air trapped in the system. the master will have to be removed, held on an incline and bench bled; reinstalled and then bleed the entire system. google bleeding a clutch

Is the pedal firm and high up on the pedals travel? Meaning no 'drop' off in/on the pedal travel before it starts to build pressure against your foot? With a helper depressing the clutch, is or does the slave extension seem to be full travel.

Pumping the pedal, no improvement on the release?
