It is usually located right up against the firewall directly over the hump on the floor under the mat.
Do you have a working test lite?

OK, I found the shut off switch and it has not gone off. I am completely stumped as to what this might be. It looks like I might have to break down and take it to the shop even though I really do not want to. Any other thoughts on what might be wrong?

I'm a little slow here, but how did you decide it was a fuel problem and not something else, I completely missed that.

if you don't have hardly any fuel pressure at the injectors or on the fuel rail is either a clogged fuel filter in the tank or you have to take the bed off or up and change the pump again. that would be the only reason why fuel isn't getting into the engine, those injectors can't fire if there isn't enough pressure to spray into the chambers or pistons

That's a good question. I knew it was not an alternator, starter, or battery because i just replaced those thing within the last 3 months to 2 years.

Before it cut out on me, I noticed some hesitation when I went from a dead stop and shifted into first and second gear. Also, when I checked the pressure in the fuel rail by pushing on the valve stem no fuel spurted out at all indicating that the pressure is low. Perhaps I messed something up when replacing the fuel filter and FPR to make the fuel pressure low? Not sure, but I figured if that was the case when I tried to start it fuel would spray our or leak from one of those two areas, and it is not.

I was also beginning to notice an problem with fluctuation in the engine temperature before it went up as well. So I am thinking I probably need to replace the water pump and the thermostat, but I don't think that would have anything to do with the truck not turning over all the way. Would it?

the only ones i saw the pump was in the tank ! if you have duel tanks then you have 2 pumps ! did you change the fuel filter and check the fuel relay ? if it turns over good then it could be a plugged filter or the relay went out ! check the regulator on the fuel rail to see if any gas is in the vacuum hose ! there should be no gas in the vacuum hose !

On the diagnostic plug there is a terminal that if grounded with the key in the on position the fuel pump should run. Can you do this to at least see if the pump runs and delivers any pressure? You need to stick with a plan/procedure and follow through or you will be jumping all over the place and playing hunt and poke. If you can get the pump to run either you will have pressure or you won't. Depending on what result you obtain will determine what your next step(s) should be.
