My 04 F150 5.4 is doing the dreaded dry starting that causes can phaser failure when first firing, causing the cams to dry run for a split second before oil pressure is built up. I am looking for a way to allow the engine to crank over without running until oil pressure is built up. I have tried pulling a handful of different fuses one by one that I read would allow this, but they either still allow the engine to start or do not allow cranking at all. Fuses 5, 20, 28, 29, 32, 34, and relay R203. No luck with any of them. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.
