I’ve had this issue for awhile. One day out of no where my tailgate decided to not open. I haven’t seen any working solutions on the internet. I have a soft covered bed cover not sure the brands name as it came with my truck. The only way to remove my bed cover is by releasing the tailgate. The only way I’ve seen to fix my tailgate it to get in from the backside of the tailgate. I’m unable to do so as the bedcover stops me from getting behind the tailgate and the tailgate being jammed stops me from being able lift and remove my bed cover. If you guys have any ideas on how to solve this issue please help me out. And if you know how to fix this than also please let me know. Yeah your tailgate actuator is bad, your gonna have to force the bedcover open and hope you don't break it. Sorry for the bad news.
