Hi all.
I purchased a 2021 F150 XLT Sport a couple months ago- 5L, crew cab. 72000 kms, OEM LED head lights. The other day the rightside headlights, fog lights and DRL started acting strange.
High beam does not work. DRL is intermittent and fog light stays on at all times when the lights are on. I removed both head light packages and swapped the left for the right and vice versa and still have the same problem so its not the headlight itself. checked all fuses and everything seems fine. Anyone run across this sort of issue before?

 

Check in the specifications section of your owner's manual and see if it specifies LED lamps.

 

Thanks for replying but i am not sure what you are referring to. Manual states that this model can have LED or HID lighting however it does not go into specifics for this particular truck. Headlights are not aftermarket but are Ford part numbers.

 

You might want to verify the ground supply to the right side headlamp assy is functional.

A test lamp can verify that easily if you connect the ground clamp to battery positive post and the test light probe to the ground, AT the headlamp plug, usually a black wire.

Thanks Hanky. I checked and ground is good at headlight module. FYI low beams and fogs work fine. Just high beam and DRL right side. Could it be the BCM module? Checked DTM codes and I see bus fault for right headlamp assembly.

 

The better way to do this would be to have a capable scan tool verify module health and verify if problem is module or other.
