If you see something that is out of place or not normal [bare wire(s) ] , smart move to repair that first to eliminate that as a possible problem that could have you chasing around for something else . If it is corrected ,then you know it cannot be the problem.

 

 

Valve bodies were troublesome. Did you open it up for the same reason?

 

 

Electrical/electronics can be funny sometimes and do things we would not expect. so we usually don't let a "possible future problem" go and hope it will not cause any problems up the road.
