Default FL500S oil filter

I have a 2017 Ford F150 XLT w/5.0L. Does Motorcraft offer a longer oil filter than the FL500S?

I would stick with the 500S. It is well constructed and I do not see any gains obtained by going with something longer. Be glad your doesn't take the 820S, which seems to me to be from another manufacturing plant. I have cut open may sizes and the 820S is nothing but a sloppily assembled piece of junk.

No S500 is a good filter, they are cheep enough but I guess you could push the oil change interval if you wanted to.
I change all my vehicles oil at 5000 miles so I dont have to think about it but could undoubtedly go further if I wanted to.

The manual usually states under "normal" driving conditions to change oil at 5000 miles, some as high as 7500 miles. So it is assumed the Motorcraft filter can handle atleast that mileage.I can tell you from cutting open a lot of filters, that the Motorcraft 820S is constructed much more cheaply that the 500S. I don't use the 820's anymore.
