Default Fuel leak....

Hello new here but have three fords one just purchased:1988 F150 with 351 98,000 miles that runs great lots of power no hesitation BUT when I warm it up in the morning fuel drips down on driver side. Dinner plate sized puddle. Once I start driving goes away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tim,
Can you help us out a little?
It's a pretty long distance from the front of the truck to the rear, so can you be a little more specific as to where the fuel is leaking and getting to the ground? Could it be the fuel is still leaking but it is evaporating while the truck is moving?

Thanks for the reply Hanky, leak is directly underneath engine showing where exhaust down pipe connects to exhaust manifold between oil pan and transmission bell. Fuel smell is overwhelming but then goes away. I have let it continue to run and watched the leak stop.

Thanks in Advance

It would help if you checked the engine on top and were able to see if there was an area of wetness either on the driver's side or passenger side before starting the engine. On the driver's side would be the fuel pressure regulator which if it did leak should leak all the time then there are the fuel injectors that may need new sealing O rings and when the engine warms up may stop leaking. The passenger side would also have the fuel injectors that could have the same problem. Since you are able to notice the leak stopping can you describe the area a little more?
