Default fuel pump

Hi , i have a 1989 f150 that has no voltage to the fuel pump. I put two new relays on it and checked the wires and fuses. Everythings seems to be hooked up ok. I even took the pump off and hooked it to the battery and it worked ok. Any ideas on why it would not be getting volts to the pump would relly help. Thanks

If its fuel injected, then you have a fuel pump reset switch. On most trucks, its inside the passengers side kick panel, if its not there then maybe someone else will know exactly where it is. Find it, press it, then start the truck.

I think that the fule pump has an electronic pressure regulator. It may be acting up. Is you have access to a Chiltons or Motor Manual you can jet an idea of what it is and where its located. Also, most Ford Service Centers will show you or even photo copy an image of the electrical schematic for the entire vehicle. With that you should be able to locate and isolate all of the components that are tied to the fuel's electrical conrols.

Thanks for your help but still no voltage to the pump. Tried the inertia switch no luck there. Not sure what would cut off power to the fuel pump, besides maybe the inertia switch. Im now wondering if i could hot wire the pump just to get it running, maybe put a toggle switch on it. This morning im going to check all the grounds for the pump relays again. I have a Haynes manuel and it has the schematic for it. Would the pressure regulator cut the power to the pump? Need to get it running again, it has work to do not me working on it. Be back this afternoon sometime , i have a doctors appointment today. Thanks again.
