Unhappy HELP !! 98 f150 not running right

Hello.... need a little help ... I have a f150 98 with 94,000 miles on it.... I had the check engine light on for a little while now and went to the auto part store to see what was wrong with it.... It was reading lean bank 1 and lean bank 2 (now keep in mind everything runs fine just want to fix whats wrong) so after reading on here other peoples issues with that.... I thought clean my M A F sensor... so I just took it apart went to auto zone got the cleaner... sprayed it REAL good.... let it dry put it back together.... go to start the truck and it starts and cuts off... im like wtf so I turn key again and give it gas and it stays on.... I let my foot off the gas it idols down then off.... wtf again.. turn key again give gas let off gas shuts off.... !!! I dont know what I did... I guess this is why you dont fix it if it ain't broke.... any suggestions thanks milesnva

Will it stay running if you give it gas? If so, try cleaning the IAC as well (Idle Air Control).

Can you remove the oil pan on a 1997 F150 4.6 without pulling the motor?

have you got all the hoses and electrical conections hooked back up?

it realy sounds like a 4.6 running with the air tubes off and the maf unhooked

Default Up DATE!!!

OK I took it all apart again (maf) re cleaned it and connected it all back!! Now the only issue I am having is that runs odd in drive... meaning that I turn the key, she starts right up and stays running... sounding good!!! no lights on either... I put it in DRIVE and foot still on brake, and it runs and then will have a lil putt... just one put real quick then sound normal for about 5 seconds then one quick putt again... and keeps up that pattern.... I put it back in park sounds like a champion... I put new plugs and wires about 4 months ago... new air filter.... cleaned M.a.f even sprayed cleaner into the throttel body.... any suggestions????

have you ran her down the road since you cleaned the throttle body and maf there may be just some residule cleaner left in the intake that just needs burnt out and also the computer may need to relearn to the new values of the clean maf. Take it for a little run and see what happens.
