Default '87 Not Running Right

Taurus 3.0 wagon 1987 GL has what feels like a miss after running for a while warmed up (runs fine cold for the first few minutes), under load at steady 25 mph (I live on a small island where that is the speed limit) but with giving gas on the pedal it smooths out after backfiring a bit; also misses at slower speeds coming up hilly dirt driveway, catches when you give it more gas but also spins wheels, but always makes it. Also felt like bad gas. Idles Ok. Changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor, put in dry gas, filled tank with high test, nothing changed. Went to two separate mechanics, checked fuel pressure, throttle position sensor, injectors, all OK, told me they couldn't pull codes. Suggested it may be the EEC or MAP, and looked for someone who had a similar 87 or 88 that they could pull these out of to put in mine before having me pay for new parts, but no luck. Asked how much I wanted to spend. Haven't gone that far. Any help appreciated as we love the old girl and everything else is working fine.
