I don't have any complaints yet. I normally take the truck to the shop and be done with it. I'm not much of a diyer but this time I think I may just try it out. The folks at apx auto parts said they have videos on youtube to help people install the struts. What do you think of the video?

 

Your post caught my attention johnnyd41. $75 for a set of front struts seems too good to be true. Help me out here man. Have you experienced any problems or issues with the parts since the installation. Is this a reputable merchant or not?

unless you have a top of the line spring compressor do not try this. A truck spring requires a lot of power to compress, a cheap tool is not safe.

 

I have to agree with primen! Unless you know what you are doing, and have the proper tools, a coil spring under pressure that gets loose can take your head off !!!
There is no easy way to do this job without the right tools , unless you get the strut as an assembled unit and even then when finished an alignment needs to be done or the job is only half done.

I did some checking and it turns out the price is now around $85.
