Metal hose connecting to hearer core corroded? 09 4.6 3V
( 2009 F-150 4.6 3V) Good afternoon, after doing a bunch of repairs and getting the valve cover back on I noticed a metal hose (Passenger side rear, near firewall) that connects to what looks to be a heater core hose and travels down behind the engine. After starting it up I noticed steam and a lot of coolant pouring out of a corroded hole in the metal. Now the question is, what is this hose for and is it an interchangeable part? Or would it be best to cut and fit a substitute piece in place of the metal?
It looks to me to be a heater hose connected to the fitting. Looks like that fitting is pressed into the intake manifold or the block but it's hard to tell from your pics. If that pipe is pressed into the intake manifold, you may have to replace the plastic manifold. Some wider pictures would help since its hard to tell where this pipe is pressed into.
