Default Oil leak

Hey guys,

my truck started leaking oil one day on a drive home a few months back. Barely got the chance to look at it since I have another car, and noticed there’s a hole missing which doesn’t seem right. Was wondering if anyone knew what part this was? Thank you so much.

The angle of your photo can be a little misleading.
It appears the rear main seal or trans converter seal may be the culprit.
Usually if it is engine oil it will appear black and if trans fluid have a tinge of red to it.
What do the engine and trans fluid levels show ? Is one getting low ?
