Your truck was in LIMP mode, that's why every non-essential devices got shut off, I bet your HVAC too if you tried.
Check your alternator, specifically the voltage regulator, if that's not the problem get a scanner capable to retrieve the trouble codes.

BTW you can delete your own thread (the other duplicated thread that you started), simply click Edit button, then take your time to locate the Delete button.

I agree with amesgang,. when a circuit doesn't have a good ground ,it will try an alternate path if it can find one and in this case it is using the dash lamps.

The grounds you should check are the one(s) from battery negative cable that provide the ground path thru the connection to the sheet metal, many times connected to the firewall in the engine compartment. and radiator frame assy

I thought about grounding issue in the beginning but when he said his signal lights inside dash stay lit when it wasn't supposed to, he also said it started fine so I assume all that happened during driving since he didn't mention anything about key in ignition without starting that's how I came up with problem with the voltage regulator or its brushes are almost gone.

A good theory, but could you explain how it involves the alternator, please?

He didn't have any problem starting but electrical problems during driving. Before starting, it's the battery's duty plus the grounding wires. After starting, the alternator is taking over plus the same grounding wires. If it was the grounding issues he would be experiencing pretty much the same electrical problems before starting. Of course the root cause that can cause the alternator to go bad can also be the poor grounding wires in the first place.

Technically you can disconnect the battery after starting but it's highly discouraged to do that since it can do further damage to the entire electrical system.
