About two months ago my 2008 F150, out of nowhere, started an alarm every time I start the truck. It's a unique sound. Not the same "ding" as the "seat belt, door open, headlights on", etc. So...... it dings 5 times, short pause, 5 more times, pause, 5 times, pause, 5 times, pause, 5 more times. So I hear five dings, five times equaling 25 dings. If I'm on a short drive, it's over UNTIL I start the truck again. If I'm driving more than twenty minutes without shutting down, it starts again. Every twenty minutes. It comes from the dashboard, but I don't know where to disconnect it. I've been to a Ford dealer, Autozone, asked a buddy who "knows everything." They've all listened to it, but nobody has ever encountered the problem. I'm not crazy, but I'm well on my way. I have some long drives coming soon and it's bugging me bad. Anyone ever hear of this and a solution? I can record it on a video or if y'all have other ideas. PLEASE HELP.

 

If the seat belt system detects a malfunction it will provide a code thru the warning chime.
Hard to believe a dealership couldn't handle this, try another dealership.

 

Thanks... I thought of that. The technician I spoke with gave off an attitude of "I'm too busy to help you right now".

 

He probably was, he will not get paid if there is no work ticket..
