Default For the timing job fellas 5.4L 3V

I am planning ahead to do a complete timing job on my 5.4L 3 valve and in the process, purchasing up all of the necessary parts.
Although I have no confirmation that anything may be wrong with any of my rockers, I am seriously considering purchasing the newer style ones and doing them all while I have everything torn down.
Just wondering if most folks decide to throw down the extra 400-500 bucks in parts and just do it anyway?
Or, do you check them all for play while you are in there and see if there are any issues first?

If I were doing it for a customer , I would have to ask for approval to go all new and if they say , if reusable, there is your answer !
