Red face Update on F150

Hello everyone,
I have an update from the last post, that might be a bit more descriptive.

It been suggested that the distributor is the root cause of my F150’s hard starting, sluggish running, poor acceleration, lackluster performance. I don’t want to replace parts unnecessarily. Can anyone suggest how I can test my distributor and see if it’s bad before I buy a new one?

Thank you in advance.

Hi! Sorry I didn't include that in my post.
It`s an F150 1996 5.0 liter engine.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you,
Autumn

Did the engine at any time have a misfire problem?
