Default 1978 Ford F-250 Help

Please help. I’m trying to replace all of the steering linkage on my 1978 Ford F-250 4X4. My front axle is different than any that I can find. Steering damper mounts to right side near the shock mount, not center axle. Looking for new tie rod/drag link.

Todd,

one of our forum members "Carid" should be able to help you out with this.

Default Drag Link/Tie Rod

I tried the Moog DS837, but the taper on the ball joint shaft is too narrow. It has a different taper than the matching drivers side tie rod part. It does not seat into the steering arm. Also, the passenger side tie rod that is currently on the truck is slightly curved around the front differential. The other difference is where the steering stabilizer mounts to the tie rod. Instead of a cast hole in the shaft, there is a bracket mount held on by U-bolts. I have searched and searched and cannot find another like this. Has anyone ever seen this before?

On older units the steering stabilizer was mounted with u bolts.
