Default 1994 f 250 w/460 e4od trans issues code 512

I have a 94 1994 f 250 7.5 (460) gas eng auto e4od only 30000 mi was from Arizona owned 3 years spotless truck began to have intermittent hard shifts a year ago .code reader shows 512 code keep alive memory .checked every plug cleaned and applied electro grease ,replaced shift position switch along with new plug ,new battery ,speed sensor in rear ,serviced trans (fluid clean) The only code i ever pull is keep alive mem even after resets .this truck runs /looks like new under hood and underside only had 23000 on it when i got it .Once and a while it goes into safe mode and shifts hard /even has gone into a neutral like state and if shut off and restarted it will run ok .never run in winter with salt on roads here in nj .paint is faded from heat of Arizona sun but wiring like new .might run fine for 100 mi then one day in 5 mi its starts acting up .no dash lights speedometer/tach work fine .repeats code 215 keep alive mem fail . checked every plug and wire more than in last year cant find issue . should i invest in a break out box or just try a new computer (icm) Any suggestions appreciated thank You

Those years did not require the Ecm to be programmed, but the replacement MUST be from the EXACT same type vehicle engine etc.
