Default 2004 F350 Dually has different size fuel filter

Anyone able to provide a part number for my 2004 6.0l diesel F350 upper fuel filter? When I go to the parts store they bring out the filter kit. The one on the frame fits but my upper filter will not. The hole in the bottom of that filter is larger than the one from the store. I have looked at different years but none match up. Is there a special series of trucks with different filter sizes? Pictures will follow.

Then don't mess around with a parts store, go to a dealer.

Many times discount stores will carry "fits all" parts. As you will learn diesels are special and require quality filters and when you take a chance with off brand "stuff" that could be asking for trouble
.A diesel will provide good service when maintained well . For how often you should change filters , the addl cost from a dealership is worth it. You can obtain quality aftermarket filters from certain stores, but you need to stay with quality filters. Filters are on the top of the list if you want good performance from your investment.

The upper fuel filter is designed to purge air out. Aftermarket ones won't.

You can only buy them as a set if you are wanting to stay with OEM filters.

+1 for sticking with OEM filters. It really is important.
