i have a 90 f250 i use as a work vehicle around the yard. when i parked it in the winter it ran and operated as normal, and now when i try to start it there is no power, no lights, no fuel pump, no power whatsoever. the battery voltage is normal, all the fuses are good, the battery posts are clean and the clamps are on tight. ground to the block is good. have no idea what it might be. anybody run into this problem before and have some words of advice?

When you check the battery voltage, was that just a meter 'static test'? With the meter connected, and on a crank attempt or a high load like headlamps, battery voltage still stay within spec? No chance is was jumped polarity backwards by someone?

 

No the polarity was not jumped backwards and voltage was well within specs. I cant believe i forgot to mention this when posting but it was a bit of a mickey moused operation to start it. the ignition wasnt working properly, turning the key to where the truck would normally crank over put it in start mode. with the key turned as far is it would go, the interior lights and electronics would come on. to start it, the solenoid could be jumped with a screwdriver, i just wired a push button to it instead. could doing that have fried something that would effect main power?

 

Did you check the fuse links? at the solenoid harness..
