Default 92 f250 spindle nut problems

I have a gearwrench #3937 socket that doesnt seem to want to bite on the spindle nut. Everything i can find says its the correct one for the dana 50 IFS. Anyone else have this problem?

If your vehicle is 2 wheel drive, there is usually a cover nut that is also held in place over the spindle nut. Once you remove the cotter pin, you should be able to move the thin cover nut and gain access to the spindle nut. That nut should be able to be removed with a pair of slip joint pliers . If it is tighter than that something is wrong.. Would you like to let us know why you have to go there?

I always used the standard axle nut socket with the protruding legs..
Ive had sockets in the past that needed some massaging with a die grinder etc.
Have you tried using image/pinch transfer material to see where it’s hanging up on?
