Let's not jump to conclusions here. Maybe the OP can tell us if his truck has overdrive.

I just checked the door tag. The transmission code is K, and according to the shop manual that means it's a C6 transmission. Not surprising since it never shifted more than twice.

It's a 3 spd not a 4 spd/overdrive. Correct?
