The hub has a thin o ring running around it's circumference for sealing.. No seals needed.. Remove the old hub, make sure the o ring sealing surface is clean (rotor/hub portion) , lightly lube the o ring on the new hub and install.. Make sure the snap ring seats all the way.. Sometimes the old hub may need a little 'help' to move, and you may need some soft jaw pliers ect with some rocking/pulling to get it to release.. Souldn't take more that minutes to do...

Checkyour cab mounts. Sometimes you can replace your cabmounts and the noise will go away. I have replaced mine a few times and the last time it did not go away. I had to make some shims a place them between the mount and the body and have not had another problem since. Good luck

I had this on my 2001 Excursion and had it fixed. I have it again on the other side now. It is your sway bar bracket bushing. At the end of your sway bar there is a bracket that the end of the bar is mounted to. The bracket has a round rubber bushing in it that the bar sticks through and has a nut on the end. The rubber bushing goes bad and allows the bar to pop when enough force is put on it, like when you make the truck twist, like when you are backing out of your driveway. You can see the bracket hanging down just behind the front wheels. Hope this helps.

I have a 2001 ford f250 4X4 and I experience multiple popping noises when I turn sharp. I am not in 4 wheel drive. I have replaced the front bearings, hubs, ball joints and sway bar support. The truck has 98000 miles. I think I know what the problem is but I want to see what everyone else thinks. I think it a bad ujoint in the front drive axle. I have a friend that had a similar problem and he found these were siezed up. He couldn't release the ujoint with a hammer. Let me know.

I have the same type of problem but mine sounds like a rattling and I feel it under my feet as well and hear it when my window is open. It would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know what the problem was. I need all the help I can get since it is so hard to find a trust worthy mechanic. Thank You.

I believe the answers directing you to the cab mounts are the answer to the noise on turns problem. Sometimes loosening the front most cab mounting bolts cleaning the threads and torque them to the higher end of the spec corrects the problem.
It's worth looking into.
