Default F350 2019 break in by low life

My truck is only 6 months old and already had someone break into my truck. The break in was done through the driver handle key lock by using a vise grips on the handle lock mechanism and turning it up to unlock the door. I was told by two Ford dealers this is very common on these trucks and the best way to avoid this is by replacing the drivers handle with a non lock rear passenger handle. My only concern if I do this change and the batteries are dead I will not be able to get in. My question is what else can I do to keep the low life out of my truck...good alarm system, battery back up maybe . Thanks

Had the same issue with my 2002 accept they used a #2 screwdriver. I just bought a 2019 also and read the same tip and thought the same as you. After putting some more thought to it I think I am going to change the handle. I have the push button key pad to get in if my key fob battery goes dead.

According to the Ford dealers I talked to this form of break in is very common with these trucks to makes matters worst the Ford alarm system is very easy to by pass by unplugging the horn under the front grill. I did purchase a handle without an key lock it is unpainlted and costs about $80.00 part# HC3Z-2626605-CDPTM. The place to order the matching spray paint is https://touchupdirect.com. Not sure what will happen if the truck batteries are dead I don't think the key fobs will open the doors.

Fine the thief. Open the door.
Place his/her hand in the hinge end close and lock the door. Call the cops tell them someone got stuck in your truck.

Talked to a repair shop about painting the handle for me today. They looked at my truck and said it wouldn't work because I have the hand sensors which lock and unlock the door. Back to the drawing board for me

Sign on dashboard, "Please don't be alarmed if you see my pet Boa Constrictor resting on the front seat. I couldn't find her when I left this morning yet I knew she was in here somewhere."

I don't think I would want to take a chance with this vehicle, would you?
