First oil change and fuel filter change 05 6.0
I've had my 05 6.0 for about2 1/2months and am going to be doing my first service on a diesel. Is there anything special I need to know when I change the fuel filters and change the oil, like relieving fuel pressure, which fuel filter to change first etc. I haven't found any sites with any recommendations or procedures. Don't want to get sprayed withor covered in fuel. Also is the oil filter in a well of some sort or does it have to be drained somehow before removal?
Thanks

The oil filter is 'auto drained' as the cap is removed.. Requires a 36mm socket, or 1 3/8 socket for the housing cap.. Make sure you drain the oil filter 'while' the pan drain plug is out.. The HFCM (Horizontal Fuel Conditioning Module) is the fuel pump, water seperator and primary fuel filter assy.. Mounted on the left frame rail about midship/under the driver area.. There's a 6mm allen plug on the face of the module.. This is the drain for the HFCM.. They can be a bit messy to drain and change the filter if not prepaired.. It also requires the 36mm socket (1 3/8) to get the end cap off for the filter replacement.. If a 4x4, the front driveshaft tends to be in the way for complete access to the drain plug but a short allen will get by..
But, rather than go through the whole service process here, I'll email/attach the fuel filter/s instruction/illustrations for clarity...
