The only real way to check a TPS is with a scope or change it.
Can you provide any fuel trim rdgs ?

Sorry I would not know what fuel trim readings are but this is a replacement TPS and both old and new were close on voltage readings and smooth on resistance scale. What confuses me is the truck ran the same with the TPS unplugged. thanks James

Of the three wires to the TPS one should have a 5 volt reference voltage with the key on , one should have a good ground and the last one is the signal to the PCM. Check if you have those requirements. You may need to check at the PCM to make sure the info is coming from and going to the PCM.

Got the v10 in the Ford F350 running. I borrowed a CPM from another v10 truck and it runs great. Now my friend wants the rebuilt unit I bought from rockauto. Thanks for the responses, maybe this will help others. It stumped me for a while. The old unit still showed no codes. James.
