Default 2012 Ford Focus SE - Will Not Start / So Confused

I have a 2012 Ford Focus SE (recently purchased) that seems to have some starting issues. I bought the car for my daughter who just left for college. The issues I am having is that in the morning the car started fine. The vehice ran for a few minutes and then the dash lights went off but the car the continued to run. When I turned the key off the car refused to start again and still had no dash lights. The next morning I went back out to the car and it started right up. I did notice that the das car dash instruments worked but had some issues. The radio system acted as if their was a cd stuck in the unit as it kept trying to eject a cd. Turned the off and would not start again. I could really use some assistance as I am at a loss. Could there be a security issue or a reset that I dont know about? The battery was replaced prioe to me getting the car. Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be offered.

Trying to diagnose from symptoms reported can be faulty and not always reliable.

It does sound like an electrical problem that will need to be checked out by someone with some automotive electrical background and tools.

Sorry for the next to worthless reply, but the wrong approach can get expensive and disappointing and we try to prevent that.

Spoiler

Thank you for the reply. I completely agree. I will be taking it to a trusted shop later this week. Hopefully they will be able to figure it out and it won’t bankrupt me.
