No problem trans becomes problem
99 Ranger, auto trans, one morning it was difficult to start. Drove to work, no problem. Hard to start, drove home no problems. Next morning, hard to start, backed out of driveway, no problem, forward gear, moved but would not shift gears. Any ideas?

Lucky me, for once
Today was the first time I popped the hood. I was going to have it hauled to the transmission shop in the AM however, I thought the two issues were related and not coincidentally. Laying on the top of the heater hoses was a broken vacuum line. I ran to the parts store and p/u a piece of rubber hose, wide enough to connect the two remaining hoses together. The engine started with no issues and the truck drove as it should. I’m taking the truck in the morning to my auto repair of choice and having all of the hoses replaced. THANKS TO ALL THAT REPLIED.
