My turn signal dash indicator lights work correctly when the lights are off. But when I turn the lights on, the indicators in the dash do a switch and indicate the other way. Or is it possible, the correct way is the other way around? This is coming off a total redo and reuse of the old wiring harness. It had been under a vicious attack by previous owners. Any thoughts? (1963 Ford Econoline Pickup)

I would suspect a poor ground on the side where the indicator does a switch and it is using the indicator circuit for a temporary ground.
