2012 Escape Diagnosing AC

best I can tell the connector is on the port. I tried it again and once I released the connector, a high amount of pressure released. Almost like the port wouldn’t take the charge and just built up between the connect hose and low side port.

another interesting thing, is if I turn the ac on in the cabin, the engine will bog down for a second as if the compressor is turning on but it’s still not engaging.

One final thing to mention is I ran some diagnostics with FORScan and it’s showing a/c pressure of almost 400. Guessing if that’s correct I’m overcharged? Either way, I’m basically to the point where it’s over my head and will let a pro look at it.

Pressure on the high side can reach that number, but it is still kinda high.
Without a set of manifold gauges to see what you are working with, you made a good decision to have a shop with the right equip and background handle the job.

I can be hard headed on these things and don’t know when to give up. However, I am learning HVAC stuff is not for average DIYer. Thank you so much for responding here and I appreciate the advice!
