3.0 l doch v6 cam hard to turn after removing reinstall caps
Hello
I removed my rear exhaust cam to set it in it's neutral position and I capt the caps in there original order but dor some reason the cam want turn easily anymore after snuggling down bolts. What am I missing? I even followed the loosening an tightening sequences, has to be something I'm missing cause I can hardly turn it. The other turn easily

I will give that a shot. Reason I am removing the rear caps is to set my cams in neutral. Cause I didn't set them before removing the timing chains. The front two cams seems to be in the proper position just the rear two are off.
Pretty hard you can't move it at all unless the caps are loose. It's the exhaust cam. I really don't understand why it binds up like that. I removed the rollers an installed the cam an caps it turned nicely but I can't get it to work right with the rollers an all the rollers turn free soooo I'm at a stand still right now
Your engine is known as an interference engine. This means the crankshaft has to be in correct time with the cams or the result is bent valves.
There is a procedure to set the timing marks before connecting the cams and crank together. If you disturbed the timing by removing the chain, the cams need to be allowed to not push down on any valves while the crankshaft is rotated to the correct mark, then the cams get positioned to their correct marks and then the chain.
Maybe someone can print out or show the correct procedure to do this.
Check U tube for a possible video.
