car starter death of my car?
i just purchased a mercury sable, i know this is a ford forum but it is made by ford and all. a couple days ago my starter went, got it replaced and the car has been running great. till today, when i decided to use my automatic car starter, the car started but the starter would not stop engaging, even after i hit the brake which should auto shut off everything as the keys were not in the ignition.
guess my question is: did the automatic car starter cause this issue? could the starter not have dis-engaged because the mechanic that put the new starter in didn't hook it up correctly to communicate with my automatic car starter?
also, the only way i could get the starter to stop was to unplug the battery, if i plugged the battery back in, boom the car is trying to turn itself on.
any insight would be greatly appreciated!
