Default single button ford remote issues

I have a 2008 edge limited and 2010 F150 XLT both have the single button ford remote starters in them. When I go to start them I get one beep and then the security flashes on the dash board. I have reprogrammed the two keys that came with them like the steps said to do with turning the car ignition to start program not on till the security light goes out then do the same to the other key then press the remote starter button once and it should start. I did this and it beeps once and wants to go but nothing then the security light flashes fast on both keys. Tried holding one key to the ignition and pressed the button on the remote starter and it starts no problem.
With reading it says its the PATS interface that is the problem here. I read somewhere about a wire going around the ignition switch might have to move it another post says to push a reset button on the remote starter controller. I live up north where it's cold and having a heated car would be nice so looking for some help here. I don't think it should be this hard to figure out as both truck and SUV are doing the same thing so not sure how to get this back to running again. Appreciate any help you could offer me here.
Also just to let anyone know I don't get any other blinking lights on the dash other then the security lamp, everything else operates normal. I know it has something to do with the PATS if I hold the key to ignition switch and it starts but can't see both car and truck PATS failing at the same time.
