starting issues

What I would do is to use a test lite and confirm that we have juice coming from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid when the key is turned to the start position.
If you have the power to the solenoid then it leaves only two possibilities.
The solenoid on the starter is NG, or there is a poor ground connection for the starter.
When you have juice to the solenoid you should be able to hear the solenoid click. I would suspect you are not getting power to the solenoid. What you can do to confirm that is to run a jumper wire from the small terminal on the starter solenoid and momentarily touch the positive terminal on the battery with the other end of the wire.
You should hear the solenoid and starter work and the engine should crank over. Just make sure the gear selector is in park or in neutral for stick shift.

thx hanky. I do believe it is the ground. I have not had a chance to check it this weekend but Monday morning i am going to check the ground wire. I am pretty sure that is where the problem lies. I will let you know whatIcooked up with tomorrow.
