On my 2004, there is a small access hole on the inside panel. It is about an inch square and just to the right of the handle. Pop the cover off and you should be able to see a cable connected to a white lever. Just work that lever with a screwdriver and the door should open up for you. Hope that helps.

These will get your door apart so that you can see if the handle can be fixed or if it's broken. If the door is closed and the handle is out, check out my post right before yours to get some help opening the door.

I have the same problem as Chas, the handle popped off and now I can't open the gate. Please email any diagrams and instructions.

Any chance of having the repair process diagram still handy? lol...I got the handle back on but still won't open unless i press the small cable with towards the road for it to open. Does the cable attach to the handle? sorry to bother
