Default A/c Wont Work

Have a 2011 Fusion SEL AWD and the air con just stopped working out of the blue and dont even have the air blower option available either. After looking around I understand that it is a problem with the air con evap temp sensor. It needs replacing and it appears that it is an ongoing issue with these Fusions (not sure whether other Fords have this issue). The part cost around 25 bucks but just got off the phone with my local Ford dealership and they have quoted me 925 dollars to replace. The entire dash needs to come off and its the labor time that makes it so costly....I wonder if or when Ford will issue a recall on this issue? Heading into summer but I cant really afford 925 dollars on the car so unless other options are open to me (like putting down the windows) I will be without air con for the entire summer. Anyone has any thoughts, recommendations or address where I can write to Ford to complain about this widespread issue? Appreciate any feedback you can provide

Just through may different people saying they have had exactly the same thing and everyone says it is the same thing. I suppose I should get the system tested but figured whats the point to spend money to find out what is most likely the problem. Just need to know how many complaints will it take for Ford to do something about this common problem in the Fusion and where I should complain to add my name to the list.

It just could be something different and you might be jumping to a false conclusion. Why not have it checked out somewhere and confirm that is the actual problem, you could get lucky and not need to go the expensive route ?
