Default Need help

I have a 2011 Mustang V6 and just replace the stock rear gears (273) with a set of Ford Performance 373 gears. Before I changed the gears, my top speed was 136 and since then top speed is 90. Anyone have any reason why this would happen? Any help would be appreciated

Hi Jim,
If your engine rpm is the same and trans is same ,
driveshaft turns same amount of revolutions, ,,,,if the driveshaft turns 2.73 revolutions for the axle to turn one revolution and you make it turn 3.73 revolutions to get one complete turn of the axle, does that answer your question? There is always a trade off, if you want speed you give up torque. If you want torque , you give up speed.Always a good idea to do some research before changing things, saves a lot of problems ,,,,,,sometimes,,.
