Default 1990 2.9, starts but stalls right away

Trying to help my nephew on his '90 ranger 2.9l. started dying on him at intermittent times. The fuel fiter and pump were replaced, now it starts but then dies right away, as if you turned the ignition off. I'm thinking maybe the TPS or possibly the ignition module. Any advice on what or what not to try ?

If you have a test lite to use, with the alligator clip connected to a good ground check any fuse that is energized when the key is turned on and see if you lose the connection from the ignition switch when released from the start position.
Hope I explained it clear enough . Let us know what you find.

turns out to be the map sensor I beleive. I ended up replacing distributor, cause the cap hold down bolts snapped. Also the fuel rail, cause someone had twisted the inlet line to the point of cracking. So while I was at it, it got new plugs, cap, rotor, upper o-rings on injectors, fuel pressure regulator, air by-pass valve, and a TPS. None of this stuff helped, so just out of desperation, I started messing with vaccum lines and when I got to the MAP sensor, it changed everything. So I'm going to replace it and I do beleive it should work.
