Default 1991 ford ranger 3.0l v6 automatic transmission problem

I was driving around yesturday when it was very hot outside when the truck starts shaking and someone pulls up to me and tells me I gushing fluid from my transmission, I pull into a parking lot and it slowly drains out,from where the transmission and the back of the engine meet, what is the problem and what can I do that doesn’t involve involve getting a new transmission? Please help

The front trans seal was a common problem with them. The trans has to come out and the seal replaced AND the torque converter hub checked to make sure it is not excessively worn. If you catch it before you destroy it , no big deal The hardest part is the removing and reinstalling the trans, replacing the seal is pretty simple.
