Default 91 ranger water pump

I just got a little ford ranger with a 4.0 v6 and discovered that the water pump is leaking almost as fast as one can put it in the radiator with the engine running. my only question is how hard is it to change one out to stop the leak from the weep hole. thank you in advance

These really aren't that hard; removing the fan and shroud is about the hardest thing on these; and, if memory serves correctly, you might have to remove the alternator.
And by the way, why do you work on so many different things? Are you in business for yourself?

absolutely not!!!! I just trade for them and then run 'em till they quit or I find one better that's more to my liking is all the only chevy that I won't get rid of is the one that I got from my father may he rest in peace. and it run's like it did when he first redid the engine way back in '76. I still ain't figured out what happened to my 92 to cause the stupid thing to just up and die like it did. Guess I'll never figure that one out. Greasemark

Don't feel too bad about not fixing everything: there are a few out there that I wish were never made. I've been beaten up so many times, I've lost count!

I've had way too many trucks to keep track of all but one has been a ford. makes me wish that I never got rid of any of them now. thanks for vote of confidence Greasemark the reason for most of that is they either were falling apart or started to nickel and dime me to death

One thing that I learned from the school of hard knocks (and my father proved) is that when a car starts to become a 'nickel and dimer', it's time to make a trade.
I had an '84 Mustang (3.8L, EEC IV CFI) convertible that I loved. I replaced the engine, reworked the fuel injection, and it ran. For a while.
I took it on a road trip (to Florida, from Colorado), and it let me sit in Louisiana. I got rid of it, and it was a long story, but I had a choice: I LOVE convertibles, but I just didn't want to work on it every week for the rest of my life. I should've taken my Escort.....

Good grief my first car was a Ford mustang 74 I think and the reason I got rid of it cause while trying to put in a C4 tranny I broke the dog ear off the 2.3 engine while bolting the motor to the tranny
