Default 95 ranger possible fuel issue

I have a 95 ranger, just got it a while agoe and usually runs like a charm. Problem is it sarts perfectly on a cold start, but as soon as its up to operating temp, I have a hard time starting it again if its shut off for a while, It will eventually sputter and start if i give it gas when it sputters. I was thinking maybe it might be the fuel shut off but not sure at all.. I was wondering if anybody else had any ideas or have went thru this with their rangers.

Thanks in advance

How many miles are on it? Have the catalytic converters ever been changed/serviced?

Could be a bad wire or dirty battery cables too.

Clean the throttle body! You may not be passing enough air to get the hot start you need. It is definitely not your fuel cutoff.

Dirt in a clogged converter can expand when hot enough to shut down exhaust flow, also. I agree - very doubtful on the fuel cutoff - it would totally shut you down and never start until reset unless it was a really weirdly failing switch.
