98 Ford Ranger Windshield Wiper Module
Having trouble with the wipers on my 98 Ford Ranger (they just aren't working). I've checked the wires, relay and fuse and everything checks out. I replaced the multi-function switch and ran power to motor and verified that it worked. The electric diagrams i've been able to google show a control module which I'm thinking might be the problem. However, so far I have been unable to google one for purchase or even locate it in my truck. Any help someone can give with regards to this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

There probably isn't a windshield wiper module, I cannot find anything like that in my catalogue. I would have to think that the problem is in the wiring but since you have checked that I am a bit stumped. The GEM module probably controls the wipers and that is going to be a bit of an expensive fix so I would suggest getting a diagnosis before spending any money. If you would like me to find the GEM for your vehicle I would be happy to, just need the VIN.

Thanks Guys!!! yeah i've tried the glove box and nothing jumps out at me! unfortunately the World Wide Web can be more harm than help. if i just knew what "it" looked like and where it was i'd be light years ahead. I think Kyle is probably right as well. I found 2 boxes behind the stereo that might fit the bill but was unsure which was the right one. the one on the left had a number of wires going into the top of it and bottom but the one on the right only had a set of wires on the bottom. the vin number is 1FTYR10CXWPA31488 ... thanks so much!!!!

I apologize about the delayed the response, this week has been crazy busy! I have the part number but I also have bad news that accompanies that part number. The number is F87Z-14B205-DB but it is completely obsolete. I can't even order it from another dealer. This is something you will have to find at a salvage yard or you will have to find a place that can rebuild yours. If you go the salvage yard route I would suggest LKQ Corp, I unfortunately do not have a suggestion for the rebuild route.
