Default Bolt security system / starter interface

I have a 98 ranger. it came with a "Bolt security system" that is supposed to prevent the engine from starting once you remove the small chip under the steering column. It worked when i bought the truck but now if i remove the chip it doesnt do anything and i cant find anything about the company nor the system. Anybody know anything about it?

Default RE: Bolt security system / starter interface

to be honest I have never heard of a" bolt security system" on a ranger from factory. Was it added on by the dealer after purchase? I would ask the dealership you bought it from where they have their electrical and alarms installed. It is usually a shop near by the dealer.
