Default Clutch Issues Need help urgently

I have a 1996 ford ranger. I have replaced the whole clutching system. There are no leaks and I very certin i have worked out all the air. The pedal feels great but here is my problem. I cannot shift it into gear while the truck is running and once i start it in first it will roll with the clutch engaged and will stall when i press the brake. The braket holding the master cylindar is fine and all other parts are new. SO what the hell is going on?

How much free play do you have at the clutch pedal?

Is it possible you have the clutch disc installed backwards?
It can go together either way , but will not work correctly if the disc is installed backwards.
