Could be a dirty fuel filter. However, even with a dirty fuel filter you normally will get enough fuel thru to start the engine. I would check for proper fuel pressure at the injector fuel rail. You could have a failed fuel pump or fuel pump relay. Do you hear the pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key on?

Did it try and start with ether if it didn,t I would check compression, and if thats ok you need to check for an injector pulse. you can do that with a noid light

Also you can check the inertia switch that turns off the fuel when in an accident. I know you weren't in an accident, but it can go bad.
