Default Pressure plate?

Ok... I have a 95 ranger 2.3 2wd...

Now ill crank the truck up and head to wherever... And after a little but of driving the clutch pedal get hard as a rock, and the clutch stays engaged... (I can shift freely through the gears foot off the pedal.) There are times it will catch enough to move it but when it does its slips like hell! Ifbi let it sit for an hour or so... It acts completely normal.. But will do it all over again! What could it be!!

It sounds like something is causing the clutch to be released when it should not be.
If the line from the clutch master cyl down to the save cyl at the clutch assy has an obstruction in it , that could prevent the pressure from being released and not allowing the fluid to return to the clutch master cyl. There is usually a hose in that line and the hose could have a "flap" inside preventing the fluid from returning back to the master.
