ranger won't start
try pressing in the valve stem on the fuel rail in the engine compartment and see if any fuel squirts out. Be carful thought and make sure the key is out of the ignition. also do it very fast cause there should be some fuel presure even with the key off, and make sure no ones smoking near you when u do this. Also try checking the fuel shut off valve, they can be sensitive on some vehicles and it could of been triped if you tried pushing the truck to the side of the road.
check the fuse for the fuel pump, it's under the hood, thats what happened to me and i ended up replacing the whole dang fuel system, and all it was, was a stupid fuse, but u can burn out a fuel pump by running it dry, so the pump might be gone as well
