Default rrdriver side radius arm bushing need replacement?

I have a 92' Ford Ranger. My mechanic said the driver side radius arm bushing should be replaced because it is loose. I crawled underneath and looked. The rubber parts are intact and there is no cracking. But I did detect a little looseness, and I can rotate the smaller rubber ring or part on the other side of the big rubber part or bushing.

I reaplced the other side radius arm bushing with a white-colored harder one. I assume this is polyurethane. Does the driver side bushing really need replacement? Or is the mechanic thinking in terms of preventive maintenance? This mechanic has never ripped me off or sold me anything unnecessary.

Thanks,
Dave

no if it is loose better to change it ,if it is loose now better to change it instead of waiting and having to replace the radius arm and the bushing later.save a few dollars today and you will give that much more tomorrow..

change it, sometimes you can get away with tightening the bolt up a bit more with an impact but i wouldn't suggest it
